SASI Co-Edits (Royal BC Museum) ‘Curious’ Online Magazine

The South Asian Studies Institute’s Coordinator (Sharanjit Kaur Sandhra) has edited a collection of articles for the Royal BC Museum’s online magazine CuriousCurious connects the public with the curators and staff of the Royal BC Museum. The magazine’s goal is to discover the unique perspectives and hear the incredible stories of such community.

The current issue of the magazine looks at the contributor communities across the Province who have been a part of the Punjabi Canadian Legacy Project (PCLP). Many partners have contributed articles on the significance of the partnership and the work of the PCLP to connect stories of early Punjabi settlers in the Province of British Columbia and Canada.

Since 2014, the SASI in partnership with the Royal BC Museum, and in consultation with the Punjabi Canadian Legacy Project Advisory Committee have engaged with British Columbia’s Punjabi communities, organizations and individuals to create the PCLP. The PCLP is preserving, exploring and sharing the contributions Punjabi communities have made to the history of BC and Canada. You can read more about the work of the PCLP by clicking here.
