A Review of Surrey Fire Service’s Motor Vehicle Accident Response Assessment Model

In 2010, the BC Ambulance Service and Surrey Fire Service collaborated on a project to look at efficiencies for emergency services response to Motor Vehicle crashes. This report describes the results of an analysis of data provided by Surrey Fire Service on a pilot project examining the utility of an assessment tool to identify the presence of at least one risk factor that would require a person to be transported to a hospital as a result of a motor vehicle crash, and the ability of Surrey Fire Service to correctly assess whether an ambulance is required to attend the scene of a motor vehicle crash.
