The South Asian Studies Institute hosted a tea with special guest Dr. B.S. Ghuman, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala and his partner Dr. Dhian Kaur, Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Panjab University in Chandigarh.
The SASI has a long standing relationship with Dr. Ghuman who helped initiate our presence in the region and in Punjab. Dr. Ghuman has been a colleague and friend of UFV for the last fifteen years and has worked on numerous projects with the SASI. At the present time the Director of SASI and Dr. Ghuman are working on a Shastri project that is studying policy impacts of foreign universities possibly entering the Indian market. Dr. Dhian Kaur as part of a team at UFV who support Queen Elizabeth Scholars to undertake internships in Chandigarh also supported the meeting. Attendees at the tea included instructors from Punjabi University, Patiala as well as Queen Elizabeth Scholars (QES) who shared information about their internships.
