Enactus is a School of Business student-led organization that is offered at universities worldwide. Enactus as a network of leaders is committed to using business as a catalyst for positive social and environmental impact. They seek to educate, inspire, and support young people to use innovation and entrepreneurship to solve the world’s biggest problems. Teams of students work alongside a University’s School of Business to create projects that help local communities. Currently Enactus impacts 37,470 student members annually.
Enactus UFV currently has four businesses that students operate including Wellness Connections, The Big Brain Literacy Program, Fraser Valley AgroConnect and Oak and Earth. Wellness Connections was created to support students by providing resources that focus on the seven pillars of wellness including intellectual, emotional, physical, financial, spiritual, and environmental wellness. The Big Brain Literacy Program aims to help youth with financial literacy by providing workshops on budgeting and money saving tips. Fraser Valley AgroConnect focuses on providing support to local farmers through a website where they can access grant information and financial aid during a crisis. Oak and Earth is a candle business that connects Indigenous education with sustainability. Each project has a specific focus and aims to create a difference in areas such as socially, economically, and environmentally.
Ms. Ravjeet Dyal, a Research and Cataloguing Assistant at the SASI, has been a member of Enactus since January 2023. Ravjeet is also the Project Manager of the Fraser Valley AgroConnect project. She joined the organization to help address issues that are currently affecting our local communities. She also hopes to empower and inspire others to follow the actions of Enactus UFV to continue to make a positive change in the world.
Ravjeet recently participated in the Enactus Regional Competition in Calgary, B.C. where her team presented their projects in front of a panel of judges. In this competition, UFV competed against other Enactus teams in Western Canada. The team placed first in the Climate Action Challenge. They are now preparing for the National competition being held in Montreal in May. In this competition, Enactus UFV will compete against Enactus teams across Canada. We are proud of Ravjeet and her team and wish them luck in their efforts!
