On June 3, 2016 Dr. Mark Evered, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley hosted a special occasion in Canada to celebrate and mark 10 years of the UFV Campus in Chandigarh India. The UFV Alumni Association’s Chair Nik Venema and Vice Chair Nav Bains chose to honour the top ten alumni from UFV Chandigarh who had been selected by the Alumni Association with the help of Dr. Mark Evered. 2016 marks ten years since the campus in Chandigarh began and it was fitting that the event honouring the Chandigarh alumni took place on this day and during the last day of Convocation Week at UFV.
In addition to honouring the top ten alumni, Dr. Evered honoured the efforts of founding members Dj Sandhu and Lorne McKenzie who both worked tirelessly to create the campus in India and which is now such a success. Students, families and friends from Chandigarh, faculty and staff from our UFV campuses in Canada, local supporters and UFV administration all helped make it a wonderful event.
