Congratulations Dr. Jelena Brcic on your SAR NIF grant!

We’re thrilled to share that Associate Professor, Dr. Jelena Brcic has been awarded a prestigious grant from the Search and Rescue New Initiatives Fund (SAR NIF)! 🏅✨

With this funding, Dr. Brcic will spearhead a groundbreaking project that dives deep into the experiences of women volunteers in Canadian Search and Rescue (SAR) organizations. 🌟🚨

Her project aims to:

  • ➡️ Identify areas for improvement to promote equity, inclusivity, and diversity within Canadian SAR teams. 💪
  • ➡️ Build on her research into coping mechanisms, post-experience growth, and self-efficacy in extreme environments — including the International Space Station and the Arctic and Antarctic. 🧠
