In March, we celebrated an incredible milestone and an even more incredible person. 🎉
After 17 years of dedicated service, sulínek, Lorna Andrews has retired, and we want to thank her for the profound impact she has had on our university community and beyond.
Lorna has spent over two decades working alongside Stó:lō and Indigenous communities, championing employment, training, and post-secondary education. Through her work as Teaching and Learning Specialist, Indigenization, and previously as Director of the Indigenous Student Centre, she has been a powerful advocate for Indigenous student success and for meaningful change within academia.
Her commitment to decolonization, Indigenization, and reconciliation has helped shape the way many of us learn, teach, and work together. By sharing her knowledge, research, and personal experiences, she has guided countless faculty, staff, and students toward deeper understanding, stronger relationships, and more respectful practices.
Lorna’s leadership, wisdom, and dedication will leave a lasting legacy in our community. We are so grateful for the years she has shared with us and for the paths she has helped create for others.
Congratulations on your retirement, sulínek! Wishing you all the best in this next chapter.✨
