Dr. Bajwa appointed as Chair of the South Asian Studies Advisory Committee

The SASI is happy to announce that Dr. Bajwa is the new Chair of the South Asian Studies Advisory Committee (SACAC). Dr. Bajwa takes the reigns from Bharathi Sandhu who has been the Chair since 2016.. We thank Bharathi for her dedication and contribution as a member and Chair to the committee. Dr. Bajwa has been a member of SACAC since 2016 and we look forward to his leadership as Chair of the committee.  Dr. Bajwa is the co-founding member of the highly successful Bajwa Dhami Building Bridges Community Golf Day that SASI holds as a fundraiser for the South Asian Research Fellowship Program. The Tournament has raised a quarter of a million dollars over five tournaments and built many relationships with donors and players. Dr. Bajwa is a consummate community advocate and has given much of his time and goodwill towards community projects.

Dr Bajwa is a Orthopedic Surgeon (retired). He has presented and published more than 20 scientific papers in his professional career. Dr. Bajwa is a member of the Human Research Ethics Board at UFV since 2022 and was a Director and Chiar of the Board of Directors of the Maplewood Senio Care Society in Abbotsford. He enjoys competitive amateur golf, outdoor activities and community engagement.
