The UFV Alumni Association in partnership with the BC Alliance for Arts and Culture, the South Asian Studies Institute and the Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford hosted a panel titled “Exploring Diversity: A Dialogue on Culture, Ethnicity and Identity Through the Arts” on October 22, 2019.
Sharing ideas that bring to light both professional and personal experiences, five artists – Alyssa Amarshi, Suvi Bains (UFV Alumni), Sidi Chen (UFV Alumni), Junie Desil and Jonny Williams each provided insights and examples of leadership/best practices and future work that needs to be undertaken in the field in response to diversity. The panel was moderated by the Reach’s Executive Director, Laura Schneider.
