CHASI welcomes Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills to the Hub

The Community Health and Social Innovation Hub was honoured to welcome Selina Robinson, Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills for a visit on August 22, 2023. She was joined by Pam Alexis, Minister of Agriculture and Food, and Kelli Paddon, Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equity, to learn more about CHASI and the work we do.

The CHASI team shared work on projects ranging from our recent report on the 2021 Abbotsford Floods to our assessment of COVID-19’s impacts on Post-Secondary students. Student researchers and interns also highlighted the value of their time at CHASI in preparing them for their academic and professional futures.

We appreciated the Minister’s comments on the unique power of work like CHASI’s to have meaningful, direct impacts on communities and government, and her encouragement to continue to expand the scale and reach of our research.

Our sincere thanks to all three of our guests for making time to visit CHASI and supporting action-oriented community research.
