UFV is very mindful of the Provincial Health Officer’s recommendations regarding preventive personal hygiene measures, social distancing, avoiding large gatherings, and travel recommendations. The health and safety of our science fair participants, visitors and volunteers is always our highest priority. We support the decision of UFV to cancel all large events, which includes the Fraser Valley Regional Science Fair April 1-2 and the Science Open House and Awards Ceremony on April 4.
Over the next few days we will take the time to communicate with students, teachers, parents and sponsors regarding any commitments that have been made for the 2020 FVRSF. We ask that our participants and stakeholders be patient and provide our committee with time to formulate a process to deal with this cancellation.
The Fraser Valley Regional Science Fair is organized entirely by volunteers, whose tireless efforts have made the FVRSF a great addition to our community. It saddens us to make this decision, but we will regroup and look forward to the 2021 Fraser Valley Regional Science Fair.
