LIYSF 2019: Day 7

The University College London Mullard Space Science Laboratory is an unassuming group of old buildings in the middle of the British countryside, but the research being done inside its walls is nothing short of extraordinary. We were introduced to the facility by Dr Colin Forsyth, who researches the physics that governs our solar system.

Later, more physicists and engineers from a vast array of astronomical disciplines presented the laboratory’s current and future projects. Following that we had a tour by the centre’s PhD students and got to see where and how the space machinery is made.

It was so exciting to catch a glimpse of this world-leading research group, as they investigate the physical processes of the Universe and develop new technologies for the next generation of space missions.
