After a long flight from Vancouver to Heathrow, I have finally arrived in London! The day has been a whirlwind of new faces and introductions.
Once I arrived I had some time to explore the university and surrounding city. The Imperial College of London where I am staying is absolutely beautiful and so full of history.
On my way to dinner I met the only other Canadian at the forum. Even though she is from the other side of the country in Newfoundland and Labrador, it was nice to feel close to a piece of home.
Our first day ended with a brief welcome by the LIYSF director, Richard Myhill, highlighting the exciting journey to come over the next two weeks.
