Brent Bailey from UFV’s Department of Agriculture recently took some Biology ‘peeps’ on a barn and greenhouse tour of our state-of-the-art agriculture facility in Chilliwack. Fabiola Rojas, Shawna Dyck, Allan Arndt and Justin Lee even happened to make a few new friends.
The Centre features a 783 m2 barn including livestock, milking, poultry and swine areas. The 600 m2 greenhouse with a multi-wall polycarbonate construction provides a strong thermal rating and high energy efficiency. The greenhouse is the tallest in North America at 12m which allows it to retain the CO2 rather than venting it as excess heat.
