Are you a Canadian university student or graduate with a passion for language and culture? If so, the North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP) is calling your name! The upcoming application cycle opens from February 9th to April 4th, 2024.

What is NALCAP?

Operated by the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in Ottawa, NALCAP aims to create lasting educational ties between Canada and Spain. The program invites native-like English or French speakers to collaborate with elementary and secondary schools in Spain, enhancing language programs as teaching assistants (TAs).

Your Role as a Language Assistant

As a language assistant, you become a cultural ambassador, fostering English or French language learning and mutual understanding through cultural exchange.

Program Highlights

  • Placements are available across Spain, from bustling cities to charming towns.
  • Assignments run from October 1st to May 31st, offering an immersive experience.
  • Monthly stipend of 800 to 1000 euros, depending on the assigned region.
  • Medical insurance is provided by the national or regional governments of Spain.
  • Assistant teaching hours range from 14 to 16 per week, based on the assignment.
