UFV Cheer Team places fourth in Sea to Sky competition

The UFV Varsity COED Cheer Team competed for the very first time at the sixth annual Sea to Sky cheerleading competition.  The competition was held at the Vancouver Convention Center on March 31 and April 1.

The UFV team of 16 athletes competed against the teams:  University of Regina, SFU red, UBC and SFU white, and placed fourth out of the five teams.  The category of competition was collegiate coed level six.

On the first day of competition, UFV was 2.62 points behind UBC who was in third.  After competing the second day, UFV ended up narrowing the gap to 1.19 points behind UBC.  In the end, the University of Regina came first, followed by SFU in second, UBC in third, UFV in fourth and SFU in fifth.

The UFV Cheer team is coached by Connor Labossiere and Brooke Ostendorf, and the choreography was done by Chelsey Delaney.

The team is always looking for new team members and is looking forward to training over the summer and bringing new skills to competition next year.
