Q’um Q’um Xiiem Dr. Jo-ann Archibald reappointed to second term as Chancellor

Q’um Q’um Xiiem Dr. Jo-ann Archibald, OC, has been reappointed to a second three-year term as Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley, beginning April 1, 2027.

Since becoming Chancellor in 2024, Dr. Archibald has brought her wisdom, warmth, and deep connection to UFV to the role. From welcoming graduates at Convocation to representing UFV throughout the Fraser Valley and beyond, she has been a wonderful ambassador for our university and a strong champion for our students, our communities, and our commitment to reconciliation.

Dr. Archibald’s connection to UFV stretches back to UFV’s beginnings as Fraser Valley College, and her lifelong commitment to Indigenous education and community continues to enrich the institution.

“We are honoured that Dr. Archibald will continue to serve as UFV’s Chancellor and look forward to all that we will continue to accomplish together,” said Dr. James Mandigo, UFV President and Vice Chancellor. “Her work reflects so much of what we mean when we talk about changemaking at UFV — using knowledge, relationships, and education to create meaningful and lasting change in our communities. We are especially grateful for the care she brings to every interaction and for the many ways she helps us understand and celebrate who we are as a university.
