The Secretariat office is calling for nominations for faculty and staff positions on Senate and the Board of Governors, for a three-year term running from Aug 1, 2024 to July 31, 2027.
Senate is the senior academic governing body at UFV. Its main roles are to set policies and procedures concerning educational matters, and to act as an advisor to inform decisions made by the University Board. The Senate typically meets once each month, with meetings alternating between UFV campuses. Senate members are expected to represent the Senate on at least two standing committees.
Faculty Positions:
• One member from the Faculty of Humanities, College of Arts
• One member from the Faculty of Social Sciences, College of Arts
• One member from the Faculty of Science
• One member from the Faculty of Health Sciences
• One member from the Faculty of Business and Computing
• One member from the Faculty of Education, Community and Human Development
• One member from the Faculty of Applied and Technical Studies
Available staff positions:
• two staff members
The management, administration, and control of the property, revenue, business, and affairs of the University are vested in the Board of Governors. For further information on Board membership and its responsibilities, view the Board bylaws at ufv.ca/board/board-bylaws.

If you are interested in being a faculty or staff member on the Senate or Board of Governors, please complete the nomination form on the Secretariat Elections web page before the deadline of 4 pm on Feb 12, 2024. Late nominations will not be accepted. If more than one nomination is received for a position, an election will follow.
