Senate and Board of Governors – Call for student nominations 2024

The Secretariat office is calling for nominations for student positions on the Senate and the Board of Governors, for a one-year term running from Aug 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025.
The Senate is the senior academic governing body at UFV. Its main roles are to set policies and procedures concerning educational matters, and to act as an advisor to inform decisions made by the University Board. The Senate typically meets once each month, with meetings alternating between UFV campuses. Senate members are expected to represent the Senate on at least two standing committees.

The management, administration, and control of the property, revenue, business, and affairs of the university are vested in the Board of Governors. For further information on board membership and its responsibilities, please view the Board bylaws, at ufv.ca/board/board-bylaws.

If you are interested in being a student member on the Senate or Board of Governors, please complete the nomination form on the Secretariat Elections webpage, before the deadline of 4 pm on Feb 12, 2024. Late nominations will not be accepted. If more than one nomination is received for a position, an election will follow.
