The Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies Recognizes Community Partners

The year 2011 was a momentous year for the community of Abbotsford as the Gur Sikh Temple celebrated its Centennial year. There were many events which took part in that year and the Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies wanted to commemorate its many partners who had made such a successful year possible.

What makes these partnerships particularly unique is that they are committed to an ongoing partnership with the Centre and continue to work with the Centre on a number of projects.

CICS Director Satwinder Kaur Bains and CICS Coordinator Sharanjit Kaur Sandhra were honoured to present certificates of appreciation to OMNI News Punjabi National Edition, The Punjabi Patrika, and the Reach Gallery Museum, Abbotsford. UFV Vice-Chancellor and President Dr. Mark Evered was pleased to present the Khalsa Diwan Society, Abbotsford with a plaque of appreciation on behalf of the CICS and UFV.

The CICS is also incredibly grateful to the efforts contributed to the Centennial year by the City of Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley Indo-Canadian Business Association. We look forward to presenting our plaques to these key community partners.
