Flood conditions and travel impacts – campuses operating as scheduled

Key messages

  • Road and weather conditions across the Fraser Valley remain stable this morning.
  • Highway 1 remains open.
  • UFV campuses are open, and exams and classes will proceed as scheduled today.
  • Students and employees should continue to make travel decisions based on their local conditions.
  • SUS Campus Shuttle: will be operational. Please check dedicated social media channels for scheduling updates (follow @UFVSUS on X and Instagram).

Current conditions

UFV continues to monitor road, weather, and river conditions in coordination with municipal Emergency Operations Centres and provincial agencies. At this time, no new closures or evacuation orders affecting UFV operations have been reported.

While conditions have stabilized, localized issues may still occur. Community members are encouraged to check DriveBC and local advisories before travelling.

Exams

  • Exams scheduled for today will proceed as planned, at their scheduled times and locations.
  • Students should continue to check their student email and Brightspace for any course-specific updates from their instructor.
  • Students who are unable to attend due to unsafe travel or circumstances beyond their control should contact their instructor directly to discuss accommodations.

Classes and campus activities

  • Scheduled classes are in session today.
  • Trades and Industry Services programs will proceed as planned unless otherwise communicated by the program area.

Employees

Employees who are unable to travel safely should contact their supervisor to discuss alternate or remote work arrangements, where appropriate.
