Building B Flood

UFV is recovering from a significant flooding of Building B on the Abbotsford campus.

Many offices cannot be occupied while others are operational with some disruption.

All classes will continue as scheduled.

All those impacted have been directly notified in a separate email. FAQ’s are available here.

Here are the areas affected in Building B:

Heavy Damage – not operational:

  • Information Technology Services — all offices and common areas
  • Advancement — all offices
  • Faculty offices — impacted faculty have been notified directly
  • AV Tech Room

Minor Damage – some damage, but operational with minor disruptions including fan and dehumidifier sounds and noise from remediation work:

  • International
  • Student Services
  • Student Recruitment
  • The Indigenous Affairs office
  • The Vice Provost Office
  • University Relations

Not damaged — and fully operational:

  • Classrooms
  • Deans’ offices
  • The Office of the Registrar
  • The cafeteria and lecture theatre (B101)

Plans are underway to provide temporary work spaces for those who are displaced with relocation options available Tuesday morning.

Until the elevator is operational, access from the 100 to the 200 level of B building is via the Elevator in D building.

It is important to realize that, while we all are working hard to recover from the flood, disrupted logistics and interrupted processes mean it may take longer than normal for some work to be completed. Please adjust timelines and plan accordingly.

Please check UFV.ca for updates as information becomes available.

Thank you for your patience, consideration, and support as we work together to recover from the flood.
