I’m Nikki Yee, a settler scholar of Chinese and Mennonite descent from Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan, the traditional land of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dene, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, and Metis nations. I recently completed my PhD in Special Education at the University of British Columbia and started as Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education Department in August. I’m interested in building from the strength of superdiversity to open decolonizing possibilities within inclusive and special education. Much of my past work has looked at how people might come together across diversity to support teachers in creating inclusive classrooms for Indigenous (and all) students. I’m so happy to be a part of the UFV community!
