Why Attend? This symposium gives educators in BC’s post-secondary institutions a venue to share their teaching and learning questions, gain insights and report on progress about ongoing investigations about their practice, as well as obtain feedback with a goal to network and connect educators across institutions and disciplines.

Scholarly inquiry involves educators investigating a question about their practice in an informal or formal manner to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. We would like to encourage anyone who has a question, a change they are making to their course or to institutional policy/governance, or an ongoing investigation around teaching and learning practice – to submit a proposal to this symposium.

Call for Proposals: Webpage – Open now until September 20, 2015. There are two types of sessions – 50-minute ones and 3-minute “bites” sessions!

Intended Audience: All faculty (professors, teaching faculty, research faculty, instructors, sessional, and full-time educators), teaching assistants and graduate students at all British Columbia post-secondary institutions. In addition, educational developers, directors, administration and research office staff, and colleagues from other post-secondary institutions are welcome.

Registration: Will open August 31, 2015, with email notices in August to remind you.

Cost: $50 (includes two keynote speakers, meals and sessions)

Location: Vancouver, B.C. (venue to be announced in Fall)

Please plan to join us for a day of speakers, presentations, discussions and networking with colleagues who share an interest in teaching and learning. This low cost event brought out 130 BC educators last year and we are expanding participation to 200 people this year.

Come join us! Either submit a proposal or save the date!
