Dr. Greg Schlitt retires after 29 years at UFV

With the start of a new academic year and the return to a new normal on campus the Faculty of Science, with very mixed feelings, sadly announces the retirement of Dr. Greg Schlitt from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics after 29 years of exemplary teaching, service and scholarship.

Greg’s passion for innovative reform and of curriculum and pedagogy benefited the Math and Stats Department greatly. His vision and leadership helped shape the department into what it is today.

He has worn many hats over his 29 years at UFV. He served several terms as Department Head for the Math and Stats Department, was Acting Dean of Science, Acting Director of Research, Acting Director of the School of Land Use and Environmental Change and chaired many committees.  He’s been a leader and ambassador for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, the Faculty of Science, and the university as a whole. His wisdom and diplomacy will be missed by the many faculty, staff, and administrators who worked with him at UFV.

We wish him all the best on his next chapter.
