The Faculty of Science is running a new science outreach program this semester! Science Rocks! Days is a series of one-day science education events for children, held on Saturdays, on our Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses. We have events for kids in grades 4-8. The goal of this program is to inspire children to be inquisitive about the world around them, and to develop a long-term interest in science and technology. Our first Science Rocks! Days event is October 16, for children in grades 4-6, on our Abbotsford campus.
If you……
- Have a passion for science, love working with kids, and are excited to bring these two together,
- Work well in a team situation as well as on your own,
- Have good organizational skills, and are also able to change plans quickly and easily as needed,
- Have a broad science background,
then this job is for you! Preference will be given to students who have experience working with children. Volunteers will be required to attend a training session and obtain a criminal record check.
