LIYSF 2019: Day 13

The lecture that I attended this morning was titled ‘Is it possible to build a star on earth? (with humongous lasers)’ by Dr Kate Lancaster. I was originally drawn to this lecture because of its intriguing title, but I was not expecting Dr Lancaster to reveal that a star on earth is in fact becoming more and more of a possibility.

She presented a really informative and entertaining talk on the ways in which fusion could be the energy source of the future. The research that she has done is hugely impressive, and ever so important.

This afternoon was dedicated to walking up and down Oxford Street, Europe’s busiest shopping street. It was insanely busy, but definitely merits all of the excitement.

Tonight was spent around London with friends, reminiscing over the past two weeks, and all of the memories and friendships that have been made.
