Dr Tolullah Oni gave an encouraging lecture this morning titled ‘Can Cities Makes Us Healthier?’ She called on each one of us to use our voices in science and science diplomacy in order improve health in cities worldwide.
Following the lecture was a much anticipated visit to the London Eye, which thoroughly exceeded my expectations. The view over the River Thames seemed endless as we circled around in a tiny dome, catching a glimpse of what felt like all of London.
The night ended with the Science Forum Bazaar, which had over 150 student presentations. I felt honoured to represent UFV overseas with my undergraduate research, alongside so many talented young researchers. It was a very humbling and inspiring experience to learn about the ways in which other students from across the globe are making their mark in the scientific community.
