Today I had the privilege of visiting the King’s College London Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. The centre is a leading facility in cutting-edge research looking at developing effective cell therapies using stem cells. It was remarkable to tour the research laboratories, and to be introduced to scientists working in such an innovative and promising field of biology.
Later in the day, I listened to Professor Sir Steven Cowley share his expertise on fusion as the ultimate energy source. He touched on many of the key concepts of fusion, along with the issues challenging current progress, and recent experimental advancements. The lecture gave captivating insights into the future of energy, and I am currently crossing my fingers that nuclear physics will fit into my timetable before I graduate!
