The Centre for Sustainability has been hard at work preparing for this year’s upcoming events! They kicked off the academic year with a brand new logo designed by our talented Marketing and Communications department!
Sustainable UFV took part in the New Student Orientation (NSO) at both the Abbotsford and Chilliwack Campus and had some fun with a game of “Put the Trash in the Correct Bin“. It was a great education tool for the new students and a refresher for current students, staff and faculty.
October 6, 2016 – Join us for the 2nd annual waste audit on the main green on the Abbotsford campus 9:00 – 3:00 pm. This event will correspond with the Science Social also being held at the Great Hall at 5:00 pm. Check out what happened at last year’s audit!
November 2016 Sweater Week – What is sweater week you ask? Well, it’s an international event that was put forth originally by the World Wildlife Fund. It encourages people around the globe (particularly in the Northern Hemisphere) to turn down the thermostat and bundle up instead. It’s all about saving energy (and therefore money!). Sweater Week will be happening the beginning of the cold season this year. Stay tuned for the exact week when the heat in the buildings will be turned down and the emphasis will be made for layering!
October 11, 2016 – General Membership meeting of the Centre for Sustainability will be held on Tuesday, October 11th from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Coffee and pizza will be served.
Of course presentations, forums and seminars are being planned so be sure to stay connected with us!
