Job Opportunity – Science Outreach Winter 2015

Super Science Club is an after-school program for elementary students that UFV offers in collaboration with Science World.  The goal of this program is to inspire at-risk children to be inquisitive about the world around them, and to develop a long-term interest in science and technology.  Science World provides paid training and you will be using their curriculum. See http://www.scienceworld.ca/ssc for more information.

Super Science Club will be running at Central Elementary Community School in Chilliwack on Friday afternoons and at Deroche Elementary School in Mission (Deroche) on either Tuesday or Thursday afternoons.

  • The program at Central Elementary will run from February 6 to April 17 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
  • The program at Deroche will run from the week of February 3 to the week of April 7 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Topics for both programs will include:  flight, life of a salmon, balloons, animal grossology, states of matter, pollinators, solar system and stars, plants all around us, solar energy, elastic energy, illusions, and more!

We are looking for students with a passion for science and who love working with kids!
