This year, we celebrate the incredible legacy of Lorne Mackenzie — a cherished colleague, mentor, and leader — as he retires from the UFV School of Business after 25 years of service! 🎉
Lorne’s impact is woven into the fabric of our School. From co-designing the flagship BUS 100 and BUS 405 courses to helping launch the BBA program in Chandigarh, his contributions have shaped generations of students.
Lorne brought business theory to life in the classroom. His teaching was deeply enriched and made special by extensive real-world experience, including as President of KFC Canada and as a multi-unit franchise owner-operator.
Beyond his academic achievements, Lorne continues to be passionate community advocate, serving on boards that promote meaningful change both locally and abroad. 🌍
At Lorne’s retirement party in May, colleagues honoured his legacy with stories that were funny, moving, and deeply inspiring — just like Lorne himself.
While Lorne’s next chapter includes travel, vineyards, and well-earned rest with his wife Mila, his influence will continue to resonate in every class, meeting, and hallway conversation.
Thank you, Lorne, for everything. You showed up everyday with presence, poise, and purpose. Your calm wisdom and generous mentorship has made a difference in all of us! 🙏
