Our Enactus UFV team, under the mentorship of Dr. Saeed Rahman, has achieved remarkable success in this year’s Enactus Regionals Competition. The team was the Winner of the CWB Financial Literacy pitch competition (became first out of 37 applications) and was the 2nd runner up for all three challenges: CWB Financial Education Challenge, Scotiabank Climate Action Challenge and TD Entrepreneurship Challenge. Congratulations to Enactus UFV, their president, Trisha Kumar, and the mentor, Dr. Saeed Rahman.
Enactus UFV is launching the Fraser Valley AgroConnect Project, which will support local farmers in three areas: resource and information gathering, business management, and business recruitment. Dr. Saeed Rahman received the Faculty Student Research and Scholarly Activity Fund amounting $4000 for the project titled “Innovations shaping urban agriculture in Canada: Case studies of agri-business companies in the Lower Mainland.” As part of the project, we hope to develop a series of teaching case studies of businesses in BC’s agriculture and agri-food industry.
Amazing job team!
