Business Students Win the 2018 Undergraduate Research Excellence Award

The School of Business would like to extend congratulations to Shea Horton, Zihan Tian (not pictured above), and Jared Wiebe for winning the 2018 Undergraduate Research Excellence Award last night.

Their study, conducted under faculty member David Dobson‘s supervision, looked at time management of university students and the effect it has on their academic success. Their results showed students are aware that they do not have the most effective time management skills, and also recognize what their distractions are. Some of the biggest distractions were found to be social media and technology. Most students agree that they could use help with their time management skills. It also found that study groups are a great learning tool for students, and that professors play a large part in the success of students through their availability outside of class and the way in which they conduct their classes.

Well done!
