Nikolas Vojnoviche, of UFV Cascades men’s volleyball , and Kierra Noot of UFV women’s volleyball are the UFV Cascades/Abbotsford Heat Athletes of the week, for the week ending on Sunday, October 13.
Noot led UFV to a pair of three set sweeps to open the 2013 PACWEST regular season, over the CBC Bearcats, in Abbotsford last weekend. She recorded 12 kills and 7 blocks over the weekend and led the Cascades in offensive statistics both nights.
“ It was a weekend where Kierra was competing with another great middle in our league (April Vaandrager, CBC), she won the battle and controlled the net. She also was great in shutting down CBC’s outside attackers inducing a lot of roll shots and tips avoiding her block,” commented UFV head coach Dennis Bokenfohr.
