ITS is improving the way guests connect to Wi-Fi on campus. The improvements will make requesting guest or event Wi-Fi quick and easy, and guests will benefit from faster, more secure Wi-Fi.
Starting Mon, Nov 6, when guest or event Wi-Fi is required, simply submit a ticket by visiting https://itservicedesk.ufv.ca/TDClient/52/ITServicesPortal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=380.
You’ll have three different options to choose from that have been created to best meet the needs of you and your guests/event.
Option 1: Guest – Generic
The best option for when a small group of guests are expected on campus but names, email addresses, or phone numbers are unknown. A generic login and password will be created for the guests to access Wi-Fi up to a maximum of 180 days (six months).
This option can also be selected if you require a generic login and password for when guests are unexpectedly on campus and require Wi-Fi.
Option 2: Guest – Named
Best option for when a group of guests are expected on campus and names, email addresses or phone numbers are known in advance. A specific login and password will be created for the guest and an email or text will be sent directly to the guest to access Wi-Fi for a maximum of 180 days (six months).
Option 3: Event
Best option for when a group of guests (more than five) are expected on campus for five days or less and names, email addresses or phones are unknown. A generic ‘text to join’ option will be created for the specific group of guests.
