Seeking six performers for this contemporary take on Sophocles’ powerful tragedy about the individual’s struggle to resist injustice. *See list of characters below.
We will be experimenting with creating a live performance through a virtual platform — an important challenge being taken up by theatre artists around the world.
Performers with a wide-range of talents are encouraged to audition!
Casting is gender neutral.
Audition Requirements:
Prepare a 2-minute piece (monologue, song, dance, spoken word, etc.) that showcases your strengths as a performer. Auditions will be held via zoom.
Please dress in comfortable clothes that will allow you to move.
If cast, the performer commits to being available for rehearsals from September 21 to November 24; and a performance run from November 25 to 28, 2020. The exact dates and times will be published with the production schedule. All work on this production will be conducted virtually.
Those auditioning will be asked to fill out an audition form, outlining previous performance experience and training as well as work, school, and personal schedule between September and November. While all members of the UFV community are welcome to audition, please note that casting priority is given to those enrolled in UFV’s theatre program. UFV students participating as actors in main stage productions will receive either a 290 or 291 practicum credit for their participation.
