This is a reminder that Winter 2017 textbook adoption forms are due Sat, Oct 15.
Please visit the online adoption site below to submit your orders. If you cannot remember your username and password or have not been supplied one, please email Joanne Brands at joanne.brands@ufv.ca.
The Winter semester timetable is not complete yet, but the ‘tentative’ Winter 2017 courses are currently accessible at http://ucfv.bookware3000.ca/eSolution/adoption/. Interactive adoption forms are available on the public drive under TEMP and Bookstore and can be submitted via email (joanne.brands@ufv.ca). Paper adoption forms are available at the Bookstore and Faculty Reception and can be submitted through inter-campus mail (Abbotsford Bookstore, Joanne Brands). Textbook orders cannot be placed over the phone and any email submissions must have the textbook adoption form attached.
Please ensure that you have a valid ISBN number and have verified the current edition. Be advised that editions do change and the edition you may want could be out of print or substituted to the new edition by the distributor. If there is an access card required with the text, please include this in the title and quote the appropriate package ISBN number.
Please contact John Findlay @ john.findlay@ufv.ca directly to order course packs or lab manuals if required. These may be added to the book adoptions, but John needs a direct communication of the order by email. The course pack adoption deadline is November 15 for Winter courses.
Publisher reps have been contacting instructors to use custom publications. Please note that this is not always cost efficient. Sometimes the return policy is 10–15 percent of the original order and can result in thousands of dollars that the department placing the order may be responsible for. Many students also prefer non-custom books because of the ability to resell them once the course is over.
The bookstore is currently carrying a large amount of stock. Instructors are encouraged to review their book inventory that is being held in the bookstore and inform Joanne Brands if any books are no longer being used.
