Healthy Planet: Healthy People Science Cafe — March 18

Our changing climate has an impact on your physical, mental, social and spiritual health. Dr. Leah Douglas will discuss how to build personal and community mental health resiliencies. Dr. Kristine Lawson will share what she’s learned from working across and between cultures with very different knowledge about relationships between people, the land, and our health. Dr. Amber Heckelman will share how her team (the Healthy Built Environment Team), supports municipalities in creating healthy, sustainable and resilient communities. And Dr. Tim Cooper will talk about why the permafrost is melting and how bad that is, and the problems with gas stoves and alternatives to cooking with gas.

Science Cafes are casual, dynamic interactions between audiences and scientists. They are open to everyone. We’ll serve light refreshments and draw door prizes for library sway. Help us meet our sustainability goals and bring a reusable coffee mug.
