This message sent on behalf of Jackie Hogan, Vice-President Administration
I am pleased to announce that, following a national search process, Kevin Jeske has been selected as UFV’s new Associate Vice President, Human Resources. Kevin will assume the role on July 1, 2024.
Reporting to the Vice President, Administration, Kevin will provide vision, leadership, and direction to HR practices at UFV. He brings a wealth of experience from his extensive career spanning nearly three decades in labour relations and HR, serving in progressively senior roles.
Kevin began his career as a provincial representative and regional director for a multi-craft private sector union; this was followed by a lengthy tenure at the City of Vancouver as their Manager of Labour Relations and as Manager of Business Partnerships for Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services. Most recently, Kevin has been serving as UFV’s Director, Advisory Services and Labour Relations, where he oversees recruitment, advisory services, disability management, and labour relations.
Kevin has a deep understanding of the complexities of leading labour relations in a post-secondary environment along with a broad understanding of the importance of fostering a people-first HR culture. Throughout the selection process, Kevin demonstrated leadership, accountability, integrity, and vision.
Kevin is a UFV alumnus. He studied at UCFV for two years before transferring to Simon Fraser University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and Political Science. His formal education has been complemented by regular and ongoing professional development in human resources, labour relations, human rights, and negotiation strategies. As a long-term resident of the Fraser Valley, Kevin recognizes the importance of contributing to the community where he resides.
Please join me in congratulating Kevin and wishing him every success in his new role. I am excited to see the positive impact he will make as we continue to strive for excellence in HR practices and organizational effectiveness.
I would also like to thank Audrey Ackah, Dr. Garry Fehr, Sundeep Hans, Dr. Sylvie Murray, Mark Pearson and Katie Tuck for their time and dedication serving on the selection advisory committee.
Sincerely,
Jackie Hogan
