UFV hosts a Tech Industry Panel from 10 am to noon on Thursday, March 14. Participants can attend in-person at the UFV Abbotsford campus, or online via Zoom.
The tech industry is characterized by rapid and continuous change driven by innovation, market demand, and evolving consumer preferences. Businesses across all sectors are undergoing digital transformation to remain competitive and meet customer expectations. Startups are driving innovation and disrupting traditional methods of doing business.
This has led to a growing demand for tech talent with specialized skills in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and software development as new technologies are constantly emerging. A shortage of qualified professionals has exacerbated competition for talent among businesses.
Our well-rounded panelists consists of chief executives, hiring and people managers, local business owners, and tech experts with 70+ cumulative years of experience in the Information Technology industry. Students will be able to participate in a Q&A, and network with these industry experts.
This event is hosted with support from the Computing Students Association and the Center for Experiential and Career Education (CECE). Students will also have opportunities to connect with other employers on-site as part of the CECE’s Career Fair 2024 program which runs from 11 am to 3 pm on the same day.
This event is hybrid, with in-person and Zoom options. Guests are asked to register using the Eventbrite link.
In person attendees should note that there will not be elevator access to B101 during this event.
A brief survey will be sent to participants following the event. Participants will be automatically entered into a draw to win custom swag from the School of Computing.
