Open Educational Resources review sprint — Mar 7

In quick paced and community driven workshops, UFV faculty are invited to find and evaluate Open Educational Resources (OER) to use in their courses.

Workshops will take place simultaneously at the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses, from 3 to 5 pm on Mar 7.

Facilitated by staff from the library and the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), participants will be introduced to OER basics and relevant collections including the BCcampus Open Collection. Participants will have opportunities to find and review OER and consider how they might incorporate them into courses that they teach.

Facilitators in Abbotsford will be Claire Hay from the TLC and Janelle Sztuhar from the library. Martin Warkentin from the library will facilitate the Chilliwack workshop.

The second half of the workshop is set aside for discussion and refreshments. Funding for this event has been provided by a grant from BCcampus. Email openeducation@ufv.ca to register, and for more information, contact Janelle Sztuhar at janelle.sztuhar@ufv.ca.
