The opening reception for the Tripping in the Dark photo exhibition is Oct 18 at the S’eliyemetaxwtexw Art Gallery.
Tripping in the Dark features the work of Jared Soegard, who seeks to explore the diverse emotional aura brought upon by the nighttime by presenting a variety of spaces photographed at night. This project is not intended to endorse a specific emotional response. Rather, the viewer should consider what emotions these images cultivate and why a certain image creates that specific emotion. As a result, one may reflect on how their experiences and histories have shaped their perceptions of and connection to the night.
The exhibition continues until Nov 8, with the S’eliyemetaxwtexw Art Gallery open from noon to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
