Indigenous Healing Garden — check it out

The “living classroom,” an Indigenous healing garden, is hidden away behind the Student Union Society building. A totem pole made from a tree that was split in half during the 2017 winter storm stands in the centre of the living classroom. It is surrounded by indigenous plants and medicines including frog leaf, rose hip, and yarrow. Three benches can be located around the border of the garden. This space can be used as an outdoor classroom, a meditation area, or a wellness centre. Students and teachers from UFV can experience the strength of peace rooted in and permeating the garden by visiting the living classroom.
