Dr. Lucy Lee is hosting a scientist working with Coho salmon and sea lice.
They are looking for recreational fisher people who may be catching coho salmon (salt or freshwater fish). They only need the fresh carcass, i.e., tails or heads or innards.
“If anyone has been lucky fishing healthy coho recently and do not mind passing on the unused parts of a relatively freshly caught fish (kept on ice for freshness, NOT frozen), we would appreciate the gift for science,” says Dr. Lee. “If there are marine fisher people and have also caught salmon (any salmon) with sea lice, we would not mind getting the sealice too (kept in cool sea water, or on the skin).”
Please take a picture of your fish before bringing in the spare tissues.
