Peace Talk — PACS student fieldwork presentations: Restorative Justice and Housing in the Fraser Valley — Oct 19

This Peace Talk webinar will feature the work of two Peace and Conflict Studies students who have recently completed the PACS fieldwork course. The course is designed as an experiential learning opportunity, and to prepare PACS majors and minors for vocational work

The fieldwork experience is designed to have students apply peace-building methods flexibly and sensitively to specific real-life scenarios in the fieldwork assignment. Students are also required to evaluate the approach of the peace-building organization with which they are working, to evaluate the effectiveness of the approach and methods employed in the fieldwork, and to suggest alternatives.

These students will present their work during the webinar:

  • Katelyn Van Hove: Evaluating Restorative Justice Work in Abbotsford, BC
    — placement at Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association
  • Kayla Fisher: The Walls Around Us: Housing Programs in Mission, BC
    — placement at Mission Community Service Society
