Results from the UFV vaccination status survey:
The data set from the recent self-disclosure survey indicates members of the UFV community are doing their part in protecting themselves and others against the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

90% of the 5,604 students, staff, faculty, and exempt administrators who responded to the survey indicated they were fully or partially vaccinated (response rate: 73% employees and 47% students).

Further results:

  • 85% of the combined total disclosed they were fully vaccinated
  • 5% disclosed they were partially vaccinated
  • 5% disclosed they had yet to be vaccinated
  • 5% chose not to disclose their vaccination status

Of the 858 people who indicated they were partially vaccinated, not yet vaccinated, or chose not to disclose:

  • 29% indicated they are intending to be fully vaccinated by the end of September
  • 23% were unsure
  • 31% chose not to disclose
  • 17% indicated they do not intend to be vaccinated by the end of September

If you are not yet vaccinated, and if you are able, please consider getting your shot as soon as possible. To make it even more convenient, UFV is hosting Fraser Health pop-up clinics this month.

While vaccinations are the most effective form of protection against the virus, there are also other layers of protection that the Public Health Office, the Province, and UFV have implemented to help keep our campuses safe – particularly during a time where we are seeing the impact of the Delta variant. The following measures have proven effective:

  • Wearing masks – please see the most recent updates on masks here
  • Effective ventilation systems (click here for UFV’s HVAC operations guidelines during COVID)
  • Completing the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment tool prior to coming onto campus
  • Staying home when sick
  • Regular cleaning protocols
  • Washing your hands

When coming to campus please check UFV.ca or the UFV Return to Campus pages for the latest updates to health measures and steps you need to take.

The Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training has developed Return to Campus guidelines for our sector and the BC Centre for Disease Control has a number of resources on their post-secondary page including detailed Return to Campus public health guidance that supports on-campus activities.

UFV’s number one priority continues to be your health and well-being. The university has been in constant dialogue with the Province and local health authorities over the past several months and leading up to the start of the fall semester. These agencies assure us our plans for a safe return to campus align with health requirements that will mitigate the risk of exposure to those on our campuses.
