Why are we doing this project?
UFV’s current version of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is now beyond its support date and experiencing technical issues. IT Services, in partnership with Teaching and Learning, is leading an effort that will see Blackboard updated to a more recent version. This is an intermediate update that will position UFV for an upgrade to the Blackboard cloud-based platform in the coming months, as well as resolving some of the identified technical issues in our current version.
When will this occur?
The system will be brought down for maintenance starting Fri, Oct 11 at 7 pm. The maintenance window required is 12 hours. Blackboard will be back online early Sat, Oct 12.
Who is impacted?
Faculty, staff, and students will not be able to access Blackboard while the update is in progress.
What do I need to do?
Nothing at this time. IT Services will notify faculty, staff, and students when the service is back online.
