A message from Nancy Scarrow of Human Resources.
I have registered a UFV team for this year’s Run for the Cure taking place on Sunday, October 6 at 10 am at Mill Lake Park on Bevan Avenue. The team name is University for Victory and we are registered to compete in the Post-Secondary Challenge against other institutions.
With 1 in 8 Canadian women expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, your support matters more than ever. My goal for our team is to raise $2,500 for this great cause to help fund research to end breast cancer.
I’m sure many of you have been affected by breast cancer, whether it is you or someone you love that has gone through it. If you would like to join our UFV team (employees, students, friends or family), log on to the CIBC Run for the Cure Website, choose your location (Abbotsford), click “sign up” (or if you don’t want to be a team member, but would like to donate, you can click donate instead), then click on “join a team” and search for University for Victory. Once there, click “join this team”.
Human Resources will be providing a participation prize for every UFV team member and I will be keeping a list of all participants and sending you updated information from now until the run date. I’d love to hear any ideas you may have to make this run fun and exciting for our team. We can have a super fun time together while supporting such an amazing cause. So sign up today or at least donate to our team! Thanks everyone.
More than 20 employees signed up for the UFV team, including Marnie Wright, James Mandigo, and Tracy Ryder Glass. Might be a good photo op!
