A message from CIO Darin Lee.
UFV has begun a multi-project upgrade to bring the Banner system to its newest release, Banner 9.
Students, staff, and faculty depend on Banner for essential administrative functions including admissions, student registration, course scheduling, human resources, and payroll.
Modules will be upgraded in phases to ensure a smooth transition. Banner 8 and 9 will be working in parallel until completion of the project. The first phase will focus on payroll forms, delivered before the end of the 2018 calendar year. Student and areas other than payroll will NOT be affected in this first phase.
Through this UFV-wide initiative, we hope to drive business improvements, create a more robust system, and set us up for growth in functionality for the future. It is a great opportunity to bring the university together to rethink the way we use the system and achieve our strategic vision.
We will be keeping you informed of the progress through the Banner 9 website, as well as through directed communications. If you have any questions or concerns, we’d be happy to discuss them with you. Please contact the Banner team through the IT Service Desk, 604-864-4610.
